Are Media print network grows 18% to reach 5.8 million in nation-wide resurgence

New figures from Roy Morgan show Are Media’s print network has increased its readership by 18% year-on-year, now attracting 5.8 million readers every month.

The new data shows readership has increased across 15 of the 17 key magazine categories, including Food & Entertainment, Home & Garden, Health & Family and Mass Women’s titles.

 

Are Media CEO, Jane Huxley said “The recent figures show a welcome resurgence of print media nationwide. Are Media’s Better Homes and Gardens magazine, continues to be the most widely read paid print magazine nationwide, attracting more than 1.7 million readers every month while The beloved Australian Women’s Weekly comes in second, attracting 1.3 million readers every month, up 8.8% on last year.

 

Other key Are Media titles including Woman’s Day, New Idea, and TV Week and Who have also increased their print readership.

Are Media’s ‘Now to Love’ digital platform is also a strong performer, attracting more than 1.4 million users every month*.

Are Media also performed in the fashion and beauty category increasing overall  readership by 23% to 917,000 with Are Media’s marie claire recording a 22% increase in readers YoY.

Food and entertainment was Australia’s best performing magazine category, and is now read by more than 7.4 million Australians (more than a third of the population).

 

Several Are Media brands significantly increased their readers, including Australian Gourmet Traveller (up 15%); New Idea Food (up 50%); and Cooking with Australian Women’s Weekly (up 40%).
